Are we sponsoring the future Open Champion? We think so.

Dan Seaman is a promising young local golfer who has ambitions to turn professional.

Dan is currently completing a golf scholarship at Midland College in Texas, and we intend to keep you informed of his progress.

Below is a brief summary of his career to date;

Dan was born on the 8th of June, 1985.

At age 13 he played his first full round of golf, which was at Forest Pines.

When he was fifteen years old, Dan was selected for Junior County Coaching. He went on to play for the Lincolnshire Junior County Team.

Dan was selected to play for the Mens County Second Team and England Regional Coaching for under 18s when he was 16 years old.

At 17, he was selected to play for Lincolnshire Mens First Team and has continued to represent them.

Reaching 20, Dan was selected for the England Under 21 Squad.

He achieved a handicap of Plus 2 at Forest Pines when only 21 years old.

In 2007, Dan was successful at the Regional Qualifying for the Open at Trentham Golf Club and played at Montrose Golf Club in the Final Qualifying Rounds.

Update from Dan: 24th July 2008

Well after a great and successful time at Midland, winning 4 tournaments in places such as Ruidoso and Roswell in New Mexico, Midland College went on to win the NJCAA National Championships in Alabama, for which I will receive a championship “ring”. I have decided I want to leave and experience a new college. I have chosen Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

I left Midland because I feel that there’s a lot more opportunity to improve my golf at WTC even after such a successful year. The facilities are much nearer to the campus, the Coach is very enthusiastic and is extremely keen to have me playing for his team, and for these reasons I’m very excited at the prospect of going back on the 20th August.

All in all, I’m looking forward to another productive and successful year.

Update from Dan: 1st Sep 2008

Just a little write up on my first week here at WTC.

On arrival at WTC I was welcomed by my new Coach, Cody Cox. He’s a great guy, very positive and truly excited to have me playing for his college!

The college has its own golf course, driving range and short game area all situated about 50 meters from my dorm room!!! Having facilities so close will do wonders for my golf.

Classes are also very good with a small number of students in each class and an easy schedule, I look forward to doing well in my academics as well.

Please check back regularly to keep up with Dan’s progress.
